The Allen Insurance Group of Gainesville was originally opened in 1980 by Wendell Bagwell under the name Northeastern General Insurance Agency. This business began as a small two man operation with a strong commitment to professional service and quality products. In 1985, the Gainesville office merged with Marion A. Allen, Inc. in Fort Valley, Georgia. Sharing the same commitments and goals the merge created Marion A. Allen, Inc. of Gainesville, now known as Allen Insurance Group of Gainesville. In 1993, Allen Insurance Group merged with the Parkview Insurance Agency. This acquisition enhanced the agency with the current expertise in the Energy Programs. The Agency has since opened an Agriculture Department and has expanded the area of operations to include Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. In order to better accommodate customers, the agency opened a satellite office in Silver City, Georgia in January 2005. Although the agency has expanded in operations and employees, the Allen Insurance Group guarantees quality products and professional service with the dedication and commitment in which it was founded.

Wendell serves as President of the Allen Insurance Group of Gainesville. He has been a licensed Georgia agent for over 22 years in all areas of property and casualty, and life and health. Alison Bagwell Smith serves in the accounting and marketing department. She has been with the Allen Insurance Group since 2000.
